Join us for the exhibition preview and the launch of Rebecca Guthrie's artist book with new animal illustrations on 7th December 7pm to 8:30pm at the Goethe-Institut Glasgow. The artist will be present at the opening and introduce her work. Copies of her book will be available.
This is part of a programme on multispecies storytelling that includes an exhibition by Rebecca Guthrie and the creation of a commissioned artist book with original drawings of European folk animals reinterpreted for our times, a storytelling hour with a professional storyteller, an artist talk by Rebecca Guthrie and a talk and roundtable discussion with Animal Studies scholar Erica Fudge (Strathclyde University) and media artist duo Hörner Antlfinger (Academy of Media Arts, Cologne).
Join us on January 19th for a set of talks and panel discussion on multispecies storytelling.

Rebecca Guthrie is an illustrator/writer based between Glasgow and London.
Her interests lie in children’s picture books, editorial illustration, and cartooning. Her work is bright, humorous, and always starts in the real world, in her sketchbook. A big part of her current practice is focused on finding a place for traditional mediums within digital illustration. She draws inspiration from the work of Alice Provensen, Richard Scarry, and Beatrice Alemagna
Previously, she has lived in Japan, worked as crew on film and TV sets, and studied English Literature at the University of Cambridge. Most recently, she completed a Master’s degree in Illustration at the Glasgow School of Art.
