Performing ‘Channelling Joseph Beuys’ at the Goethe-Institut Irland was an amazing experience. It was my first live performance as I had envisioned it – with a small crowd sitting and standing around a performative ritual. It was also my first time attempting to channel another person through trance – in this case the German artist Joseph Beuys. The performance represents a beginning for my own personal take on Celtic revivalism, which has been facilitated with enthusiasm and excitement from everyone at the Goethe-Institut.
