From Germany into the world

After a break of several years, we were very happy that Namaste Deutschland was back. Namaste Deutschland is our pompous celebration for learners and teachers of the German language. This year the celebration was organised in collaboration with Delhi Public School, Gurgaon, Sector 45 and was held on 19.11.2022.

What is Namaste Deutschland?

Namaste Deutschland is our annual festival to celebrate the German language and culture. A colourful programme of exhibitions, workshops, competitions, info sessions, film screenings and much more is dedicated to a specific theme each year. The festival is aimed at all German learners at our partner schools and their teachers.

This year's motto

This year's theme was: from Germany into the world. We asked ourselves how Germany has changed and shaped the world. Which German inventions do we use every day? Which German products are known all over the world? Which German personalities have helped shape world history? We wanted to consider all facets: from science to the arts, from medicine to architecture, from food and drinks to fashion.

Who can participate?

The festival was aimed at all German learners and teachers at our partner schools. A maximum of 25 students per school was able to register by the German Teacher.

The programme

EXHIBITION

25 selected schools presented different themes in an exhibition. In doing so, each school was very creative according to its own ideas and presented its theme as it sees fit. The interactive games indulged all students in various topics.

WORKSHOPS

In more than 10 workshops, students worked on different topics interactively and had fun together. Whether regional studies, dance, theatre or music. There was something exciting for everyone.

COMPETITIONS

In various competitions, the German learners eagerly competed and showed their talent. In a fashion show India and Germany were united, in a spelling bee the students tested their German and in various sports energy and motivation counted. The winners of the competitions were be awarded a prize at the closing event.

SUPPORTING PROGRAMME

There were also other programme items. Information sessions about studying in Germany, film screenings, interactive stands, small games and many other attractions rounded off the festival.
