Bringing together Jordanian and German creatives, Layali Al Sayfiah celebrates artistic exchange, dialogue, and meaningful human connection through film, music, performance, and community participation.
Whether you are a filmmaker, musician, performer, artist collective, social enterprise, or community initiative, we invite you to share your work and contribute to a vibrant cultural experience that creates new encounters across cultures and communities.
About the Series
Layali Al Sayfiah unfolds over four evenings, each dedicated to a different artistic format:
Film Night – Between Us | بيننا Exploring dialogue, human connection, and shared experiences through short films.
Music Night – Heartstrings | أوتار القلب Celebrating music's ability to express emotions that transcend language and borders.
Performance Night – Flow State | حالة تدفّق Showcasing movement-based artistic practices as forms of storytelling, transformation, and connection.
Community Night – Neighbourhood Stories | حكايات الحيّ Creating spaces for participation, creativity, exchange, and belonging through community-led experiences.

Film Night
Between Us |بيننا
We are seeking compelling short films that explore dialogue, connection, identity, and shared human experiences across cultures, generations, and communities.
Eligible submissions:
- Short films (5–30minutes)
- Fiction, documentary, or animation
- Produced within the last three years
- Open to filmmakers from all countries
- German and Jordanian filmmakers are especially encouraged to apply
- Previous screenings or premieres are permitted
- Applicants must be at least 16 years old
Some conversations happen through words, while others unfold through silence, gestures, memories, and shared experiences.Between Uscelebrates cinema as a space for dialogue and invites audiences to reflect on what brings people together, what keeps them apart, and the moments in between.
Music Night

We are looking for emerging musicians and bands to perform during an evening dedicated to music, emotion, and cultural exchange.
Selectedperformerswillpresent:
- One song of their choice
- One German cover song
Heartache is one of the few emotions understood in every language. Whether shaped by love, longing, distance, nostalgia, or hope, music gives voice to experiences that words often cannot express.
Heartstringsbringstogether musicians who create emotional connections through performance while celebrating artistic exchange between Jordan and Germany.
Eligibility
- Solo artists or bands
- Amateur and emerging musicians
- All musical genres welcome
- Live performances only
- Applicants must be at least 16 years old
Performance Night

We invite artists whose work explores movement as a language of its own.
Eligible Disciplines

- Movement-based Installations
- Interdisciplinary Performance
- Applicants must be at least 16 years old
Movement tells stories before language begins. Through dance, theatre, physical expression, and interdisciplinary practices, Flow State explores movement as transformation, ritual, memory, resistance, and connection.
We welcome performances that invite audiences to experience communication beyond words.
Community Night Neighbourhood Stories | حكايات الحيّ
We are inviting community-led initiatives, artists, creative collectives, social enterprises, local makers, and organizations to take part in an evening celebrating participation and connection.

Selection Process
The selection of successful applications will be based on artistic quality, relevance to the respective theme, feasibility, and contribution to intercultural dialogue and community engagement.
