Resonance Within: A Dialogue Between the Saung Gauk, Classical Guitar, Cello and the Human Body

Due to unforeseen circumstances, 'Resonance Within: A Dialogue Between the Saung Gauk, Classical Guitar, Cello and the Human Body Event', originally scheduled for April 5, has been postponed to May 3.

The Goethe-Institut Myanmar, in collaboration with the music partner Mingala Gita, initiated a music project in November 2024. This project aimed to create an innovative musical composition by blending the traditional Myanmar Saung Gauk (harp) with the Western classical guitar and other musical instruments.

In addition to integrating various instruments, the project also incorporated the sounds from human’s body, exploring the connection between music and the human being. The result is a composition that not only merges different musical elements but also allows the audience to experience the relationship between sound and human expression.

This work is part of the Soundscapes of Connection: Call for Contemporary Music Innovators in 2024.
The project, titled Resonance Within: A Dialogue Between the Saung Gauk, Classical Guitar, and the Human Body, has now reached its final stage, and we are excited to present its outcome. We warmly invite you to join us for the final presentation, where you can experience this unique musical fusion and enjoy the creations of talented featured musicians.
