Our Ocean, Our Life: The Exhibition of Stories from Myanmar’s Coasts

To mark World Oceans Day on June 8, 2025, the Our Ocean, Our Life showcase, jointly organized by the Myanmar Ocean Project and Goethe-Institut Myanmar, will be presented.

The event will feature works submitted by young artists and writers from across Myanmar, highlighting the beauty of the ocean and coastal life, as well as the challenges and threats facing marine ecosystems. The selected pieces will reflect the relationship between communities and the ocean, portraying both the splendor and the pressing concerns of coastal and marine environments.

The exhibition will showcase selected submissions from participants invited on May 27, and will also include a discussion session encouraging dialogue around ocean and coastal topics.

Exhibition opening and discussion panel: 8 June 2025 (Sunday)
Time: 4:00 PM – 5:30 PM (Doors open at 3:30 PM)
Place: Goethe-Institut Myanmar (Auditorium)
Entry: Free and open to the public 
The exhibition will remain open for viewing on June 9 and 10, from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM each day.
The event will be held in Burmese and English.
