We commemorate Johann Wolfgang von Goethe’s birthday on 28th August, we invite you to explore Goethe’s main residence and workplace in Weimar. Goethe redesigned the house himself before living there for almost 50 years, and during this time, the house functioned as a meeting place for a lively intellectual community and as a site for the exchange of social and cultural thought.

You can enjoy the virtual reality experience when a librarian is on hand:
Monday to Thursday 9.30am – 6.00pm
Saturday and Sunday 8.00am – 3.00pm
*VR equipment is not available on Fridays.
