To commemorate the 50 th Anniversary of the Diplomatic Relations between Mexico
and Thailand, the Embassy of Mexico in collaboration with Goethe-Institut Thailand organize the Mexican piano recital by Mexican pianist Bruno Iturria-Abrego to promote Mexican culture among Thais.

About the musician

Bruno Iturria Abrego (1993)

Pianist

Mexican pianist Bruno Iturria completed his undergraduate studies in the National Conservatory in Mexico City under the tutelage of Svetlana Logounova, and did further studies in the Conservatoire Regional de Musique et Danse in Lyon, France. There he studied Orchestral Conducting and obtained a degree in Piano. His principal teacher in Lyon was Roger Sala.
 
He is especially focused on performing and promoting music by Mexican and Latin-American composers. He has played in important festivals such as the Young Musicians and the Fine Arts Concert Artists series, both organized by the National Coordination of Music and Opera of Mexico (CNMO). In addition to concert halls throughout the Mexican republic, abroad he has played in Brazil, France and Indonesia.
 
He has been a scholarship recipient of the Orchestral Direction Workshop sponsored by the Mexican Ministry of Culture, having presented several concerts in which he has conducted the “Carlos Chávez” Youth Orchestra, as well as the National Conservatory’s orchestra. In January 2023 he released his piano solo album “Voyage” with premiere recordings of 20th century worldwide classical composers also available on streaming platforms.
 
Additionally, he also earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Art History from the Université Lumière Lyon 2 in France, as well as a Bachelor’s Degree in International Relations from the School of Political and Social Sciences of the National University of Mexico. He speaks English, French, Portuguese, German, Italian and Mandarin. He currently resides in Taipei, Taiwan.
