14-year-old Mika fails her exams and is not allowed to go to the seaside holiday camp with her friend Fanny. Instead, she is sent with her schoolbooks to the countryside where she has to stay with her strict grandmother, Maria Kaltenbach. Mobile network is almost non-existant. But there are stables, a nice young stable hand called Sam and, more importantly, ”Ostwind”, a stallion considered both dangerous and untameable. An unusual friendship develops between the girl and the horse, taking them on unexpected adventures and changing them forever.
