When the FIFA World Cup kicks off in 2026 in the US, Canada, and Mexico, the Goethe-Institut will bring together language, sports, and intercultural learning. We’ll bring the ball into the classroom and German onto the field, making soccer the starting point for inspiring encounters and shared learning.

Whether in interactive youth camps, creative competitions, inspiring workshops, film screenings, exhibitions, or conversations with players, students will discover the world of soccer from a new perspective: as a space for language, exchange, and shared values.

Teachers can look forward to a wide range of digital resource packages, hands-on professional development, and versatile classroom activities that bring soccer to life in their lessons.

The campaign launches with the 2025/26 school year, with the first professional development opportunities for teachers beginning as early as September 2025.

More information on events, materials, and opportunities to get involved can be found on the ON THE FIELD website
