ON AIR celebrates the connective power of film by offering a rich and diverse program for enthusiasts and casual viewers alike. On our streaming platform 'Goethe on Demand', we showcase curated series of German films. In addition, we bring German cinematic art to selected independent cinemas across the U.S.

Ahead of the 2026 World Cup, the Goethe-Institut is bringing soccer into the classroom and German onto the field — with soccer camps, creative contests, and hands-on activities for students across North America, plus specialized training and teaching resources for educators.

The Goethe-Institut supports concert tours by German choirs and ensembles to the USA, where they perform in musical collaboration with American groups. Details about the participating ensembles and tour dates can be found here.

Writings, reflections, and conversations: Two authors from Germany – Sonali Beher and Iven Yorick Fenker, both students at the Literature Institute Leipzig – travel along the East Coast of the USA, from New York to Texas. Follow their journey and discover the literary voices of a new generation.

Through this engaging series of in-depth conversations, German and American journalists share unique insights into political and social developments in their respective countries and around the world.
