Memory Jars

Workshop & Performance|by Sujatro Ghosh

  • ACUD Galerie, Berlin

  • Price participation by registration only, free entrance
The lecture - performance - workshop unfolds as a living archive—a space where preservation becomes both metaphor and method. In a world trembling with uncertainty, we gather around the shared memory of hunger, using food preservation as a form of resistance.

This lecture-performance is a participatory offering session, where strangers become witnesses to each other’s stories—of inherited recipes, whispered war-time hunger, fermented survival, and the quiet dignity of storing away for a future unknown. Through vulnerability and shared uncertainty, bonds are formed.

Oral memory flows into public memory, and what begins as a workshop becomes a community—a momentary alliance forged through food, grief, survival, care and hope. In listening to one another, we not only preserve, but also reimagine how we confront hunger today, drawing strength from ancestral practices to face the storms unfolding in-front of our eyes.

Registration

Attendance is possible via registration at im-exil@goethe.de or by spontaneous drop-in, but please note that capacity is limited to 25 people.
