Graphic Conversations in the radical library © Goethe-Institut

From 9 December 2022 – 27 January 2023 TECHNO WORLDS was on view at the gallery of Goethe-Institut Los Angeles. Titled CONVERSATIONS IN THE RADICAL LIBRARY: The Detroit-Berlin Axis, the exhibition kicked off with Bernard Farley leading a discussion connecting and contrasting the counterculture movements of techno in Detroit and Berlin through the prism of the recent book ASSEMBLING A BLACK COUNTER CULTURE by DeForrest Brown Jr. The panel featured three black electronic music artists local to Los Angeles: 92Jelani, Trovarsi, and Corry Banks who also treated the audience to live performances and demonstrations prior to the discussion.
