- Part of series: Art Meets Tech
Together with musician, techno DJ, investor and data scientist Lorny Pfeiffer, we explore the creative use of various digital tools.
Lorny Pfeifer will introduce participants to various open source tools that can facilitate the workflow through AI. The hands-on workshop will provide artists with tools to help them develop new ideas for melodies, lyrics and chord progressions through to AI-supported synthesis and sampling and the automation of repetitive processes. Lorny will also talk about the current state of AI in music and copyright. Musicians of all levels are cordially invited to expand their knowledge horizon.
Lorny Pfeifer is a musician, techno DJ, investor and data scientist. She is currently based in Lisbon as a techno DJ and producer under the name Drakaena and performs all over the world. Lorny's creative energy also extends to the musical realm, where she is active in several blues and rock bands in Los Angeles, San Francisco and Lisbon. In addition to her musical activities, Lorny works at Web3 as an investor based in Lisbon. Before coming to Lisbon, she was an investor for years, investing in startups focused on artificial intelligence and digital health at 500 Startups and Maschmeyer Group Ventures. Her work in data science is mainly focussed on generative AI and computer vision. Some of her research results were presented at the LatinX in AI workshop at NeurIPS 2020. She enjoys building communities and was one of the first founders of LatinX in VC as well as co-founder and chair of AI Future Lab, an action tank and global community of next generation leaders in artificial intelligence. She is also a Fulbright alumna, WEF Davos 50 alumna and NASA NCAS Aerospace Fellow.
The Art Meets Tech series explores visual art, music, narrative and craft, highlighting technologies such as AI, Web3, immersive technologies, digital fabrication and creative coding. With predominantly online workshops and hybrid formats, the programme offers hands-on experiences, critical discussions and networking within a diverse European community. It invites you to discover how technology is reshaping art and how art is redefining technology - a dynamic exchange platform for ideas and skills.
