In December 2020, the Goethe-Institut Montreal, together with Confabulation, the (in normal years) monthly storytelling event in Montreal and Victoria, organized the first ever Fehler-Event. Author and storyteller Lukas Rowland shares with us how he experienced this evening of stories about mistakes and errors.

In November 2019, the Musée d’art contemporain de Montréal and the Montreal EUNIC cluster (European National Institutes for Culture) have invited the public to EMERGE, an event dedicated to contemporary performance, featuring a dozen European and Canadian artists and participants invited to present recent works that address the multidisciplinary direction taken by some of today’s most engaging practices.

L’ensemble Neue Vocalsolisten de Stuttgart et les chanteuses de gorge inuites Akinisie Sivuarapik et Lisa Louise Ittukallak ont interprété en première mondiale Inuit Songs II, la nouvelle œuvre du compositeur canadien Gordon Williamson.

In Until Our Hearts Stop, Meg Stuart and her Brussels-Berlin based company, Damaged Goods, offer a comic and sometimes caustic take on the banalities and intimacies of life. 

La galerie SBC accueille en résidence la commissaire et éducatrice d’origine britannique Sepake Angiama, qui a été directrice de l’éducation pour la documenta 14 en 2017. 

The choreographer and contemporary dancer Amélie Rajotte and the video and sound artist Nelly-Ève Rajotte are the most recent artists in residence of the Studio Québec programme at fabrik Potsdam, Germany.

For Monument 0: Haunted by War (1913-2013), the Hungarian-born performance artist, dancer and choreographer Eszter Salamon, who lives in Berlin, has culled tribal war and folk dances practiced across the globe during the last century.

The Austrian-born Berlin-based independent choreographer and performer embarked on an interdisciplinary project, FOAM, involving the exploration of froth seen as a “sculpture-light-machine.”

Comment traquer un fantôme? La cinéaste Janna Ji Wonders a passé plusieurs années à y songer, car elle sentait une présence diffuse au sein de son clan familial pas comme les autres, sans saisir l’importance symbolique de cet être disparu, et dont on parlait peu.
