Paschtopia

PASCHtopia is a virtual game for German learners in Canada that gives them the opportunity to practice German and develop ideas for a better world together.

A game has so much to offer: It can promote teamwork and communication, encourage critical thinking, motivate learning and at the same time convey content.

The scenario is as follows: The players have gone on a class trip and are stranded on an uninhabited group of islands. They are scattered in small groups on the islands, which they now have to make their new home. First, the students solve a puzzle together to find water, shelter or food, and then set off to find solutions to scenarios on specific topics such as education, diversity and health.

At the end, the results are presented and the students evaluate each other.

Communication between the players takes place on Zoom or directly in the classroom. The game can be used in its entirety as part of a camp or project week, or in parts in German lessons.
