European Day of Languages - 14th edition

Lisez l’Europe, the Centre de langues de l‘Université de Montréal and the new Pôle d'études catalanes of the Université de Montréal invite you to celebrate the European Day of Languages!

Join a festive happy hour with a plenary conference, free mini-courses and our famous interactive language quiz at UdeM (at 3200 Jean-Brillant, room B-3225 (3rd floor), followed by a multilingual concert at the Maison de la culture Côte-des-Neiges (5290 chemin de la Côte-des-Neiges).

Here are the languages offered this year: Abenaki, Catalan (Roussillon), Franco-Provençal (Valdotain), German, Haitian Creole, Italian, Ladin, Picard, Portuguese and Valoc'.

What is the European Day of Languages?
At the initiative of the Council of Europe, the European Day of Languages has been celebrated on September 26 every year since 2001. In Montreal, it has been celebrated since 2013. This day reminds us of the many benefits of language learning, especially in terms of continuing to develop cognitive skills, breaking down cultural barriers and opening the door to new friendships and professional opportunities.
