Step 1: Are you already a member of the library?

Learn more about the library’s terms of use on our website. You can also visit the library in person to speak with staff. If you are already a library member, go on to step 2.

Step 2: Have you already registered on My Goethe.de?

If you have not yet registered on My Goethe.de, you can easily set up an account online . Your My Goethe.de login information will be used to access the online catalogue. You can also use My Goethe.de for the other personalized online accounts offered by the Goethe-Institut’s language, culture and library departments. If you have already registered for My Goethe.de, you do not need to register again. Please proceed directly to step 3.

Step 3: Unlock Your Account!

In order to activate your account, the library team will the e-mail address you used to register with My Goethe.de. Please fill in the registration form and send it to the library. After you have submitted the form, the library will inform you as soon as your account has been activated. As a general rule, your account is activated within two business days.

Online Library Catalogue Registration

Our library’s online catalogue system (OPAC) allows you to browse our collection around the clock. You can get an overview of the books, CDs, DVDs, magazines and electronic resources in the collection.

If you have a library membership, you can also sign into the online catalogue with your account. A personalized OPAC account will allow you to:

View borrowed materials and their due dates
Extend the loan period of your items
View existing, overdue and paid fees
News regarding purchase proposals and suggestions for the library’s collection
Comments on media and conditions
Overview and history of borrowed items

What do you need in order to register for the online catalogue?

In order to use the personalized functions of our online catalogue, you need a library membership and a free account on Mein Goethe.de.
