European craftsmanship meets North American industry power: In a conversation on “Crafting Wes Anderson’s World” on stage at TIFF, with Studio Babelsberg representatives and Anderson collaborators via Zoom from Germany. We will explore how the director creates his cinematic universe with and at Studio Babelsberg, what draws him back to Berlin again and again, and how international collaborations are changing the way studios work and bring films to global audiences.
Eike Wolf, Director Studio Operations & Client Relations, has been at Studio Babelsberg since 2006, known for his work on productions from The Phoenician Scheme to The Hunger Games. Wolf is a member of the European Film Academy.
Simon Weisse is the Berlin-based miniature model maker who created The Grand Budapest Hotel and many other Anderson models.
