Vartiosaari Open Day

Meet the artists of Guarding the Baltic Sea and take a dip in the Baltic Sea!

Join us on Saturday, 29 August from 13:00 for an opportunity to meet the artists behind the Guarding the Baltic Sea project on Vartiosaari Island.

Throughout the project, the artists will be in residence at the Vartiosaari Artists' House, using the island as a base for their research and artistic practice. Come and learn more about their work, exchange ideas, and experience the unique setting that inspires the project.

Visitors are also invited to enjoy a refreshing swim in the Baltic Sea and to stay for other public events taking place at the Vartiosaari Artists' House throughout the day.

Getting there: Vartiosaari can be reached by a ferry operating daily  between 10:00 and 19:00. The ferry departs from both Laajasalo (Reposalmentie 2) and Vartiosaari, and you can either come directly to the shore or book a ride in advance via the call button on the ferry service website. A one-way ticket costs €3.
