What the Programme Offers
Primary and secondary school teachers can invite Young Goethe Ambassadors into their classrooms for dynamic 45‑minute to one‑hour workshops—either in person or online—designed to motivate pupils and spark curiosity for languages.
During these sessions, ambassadors share their own experiences of learning German, visiting German‑speaking countries, and studying or completing internships abroad. They speak openly about their personal motivation for learning languages and offer pupils relatable, peer‑to‑peer insights and practical advice.
At its core, the Young Goethe Ambassador Programme aims to show young people that language learning—especially German—is relevant, exciting, and full of possibilities for their future. Ambassadors also play a key role in presenting a fresh, diverse, and contemporary image of Germany, helping to challenge outdated clichés and foster intercultural openness, curiosity, and a more nuanced understanding of German‑speaking countries.
Students were very interested to hear about Bethan's experiences with learning German growing up and how she has secured a very good job already and that being able to speak German has helped with this. Bethan did a great job with talking to the students. She was extremely well prepared and very apporachable for students to ask her questions and share her experiences.
