ABOUT THE BOOK
When the wolf returns to the Lüneburg Heath, tensions rise in a village where 19-year-old Jannes herds sheep like generations before him. The conflict over the wolf soon becomes a mirror for deeper divisions, revealing fears and simmering resentments beneath the surface. As old traditions clash with radical ideas, the story asks how far people will go to defend what they call home. Can protecting one's homeland justify violence? What begins as a dispute over wolf policy exposes nationalist ideology and a silence that hides dark histories. Thielemann’s anti-Heimat novel paints a gripping portrait of a fragile idyll and asks how quickly belonging can turn into exclusion.ABOUT THE AUTHOR
