In 1914, World War I, the most bloody war ever in human history, was in full swing. Nevertheless, on Christmas Eve, some sections of the Western Front called for an informal, unauthorized ceasefire, where some frontline soldiers in no-man's-land met peacefully to pause and share a temporary brotherhood. The moving drama Merry Christmas / Joyeux Noël is based on authentic events.
