German Week
17 – 21 March 2025

From March 17 to 21, we dedicated one week to celebrating the German language, no matter where you were in the UK! The Goethe-Institut UK, the German Embassy in London and the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) invited schools across the country to immerse their pupils in a series of fun, innovative and didactic activities designed to promote German learning.

Throughout that special week, we were excited to offer a variety of creative resources, including fully prepared lessons with lesson plans to help organise workshops and activities at schools. Many took the opportunity to set up a German Club using our digital resources and physical starter kits, plan a Culture Day, or offer a Language Taster Session for their students.

Teachers had the opportunity to invite a Young Goethe Ambassador or German Expert Mentor (GEM) directly to their school. Both programmes remain available for individual support.

And that wasn’t all! We invited participants to join us for our virtual Business Lunch, a music workshop, a special German Day for A-level students, and sent our Travel Exhibitions on tour.

Our mission was, and is, to help make learning German more visible and engaging in schools, spark a love for languages in children, and highlight the unique benefits of learning languages. If you're interested in any of the above-mentioned programmes, don't hesitate to contact us. We would be delighted to set something up on an individual basis with you at gimagine@goethe.de
