Karla und Kai

Programme

10:00 – 10:15  Registration and welcome
10:15 – 11.15  Deutsch mit Karla & Kai (for upper primary children) These exciting new lesson plans are intended for children who have previously worked with the Felix & Franzi scheme of work (or have had any other German introductory program). With the follow-up concept, pupils will gradually be introduced to grammar concepts and writing tasks. However, motivation, fun and intercultural learning stay at the heart of this scheme of work. As pupils are now older, hand puppets are no longer used. Instead, two animated film characters – Karla, the cockroach, and Kai, the maybeetle - will accompany and support the children on their journey. Expect a hands-on approach.

11:30 – 12:30 Focus on skills – The question how to achieve serious progress and how to develop skills in an evenly distributed way will be discussed. You can try out fun exercises and look at a smart overall concept for teaching reading, writing, listening and speaking skills. The category thinking skills will not be left out this time.

13:00 – 13:45 The Language Magician - Assessment by playing a computer game and clicking buttons – no dream any longer. This session will look at the future of assessment. Would that work at your schools? Let’s try it out and discuss

13:45 – 14:00 Goethe-Institut offers/news/events and short evaluation
