Tacheles - The Heart Of The Matter

In observance of International Holocaust Remembrance Day we showed the documentary Tacheles – The Heart of the Matter by Jana Matthes and Andrea Schramm.

On Friday, 28 January, at 6pm, we had an oline conversation + Q&A with Jana Matthes, co-director of the film, and its protagonist Yaar Harell chaired by Kate Marrison, final year doctoral researcher at the University of Leeds, currently writing her doctoral thesison  “Digital Witness: Towards Holocaust Memory Practice in a Post-Survivor Age”. The discussion revolved around questions such as how the Holocaust continues to affect younger generations of descendants, how the memory of the Holocaust can be kept alive in current and future generations and what role computer games and other digital formats can play in this.
