Museums, Libraries, and Archives stand as guardians of our cultural and historical heritage, safeguarding collections that symbolise our past. They play a pivotal role in shaping our comprehension of history, in preserving and shaping memories, constructing identities and ascribing values for future generations. However, collections that tell the story of our past are not always free from bias, and the often skewed process of determining which segments of history to highlight, whose narratives to present, and which communities to underscore, can result in deepening stereotypes and further marginalisation of some communities. Can digitisation of cultural collections help create space for new narratives?

In our third Instagram Live session of the #heritage_digitised series, Adriana Muñoz (National Museums of World Culture, Sweden) and our host Medhavi Ghandi delve into the crucial conversation about Representation and Diversity in digital collections.

As always, we're eager to hear your questions and thoughts! Tune in on 5 October at 2pm CEST on the Goethe-Institut London Instagram channel. The conversation will be in English.
