9 November 2024 marks the 35th anniversary of the Fall of the Berlin Wall. To mark this important anniversary, the Goethe-Institut is presenting a special film series with three selected films in October and November. These films, a documentary and two feature films from two decades, highlight various aspects of the fall of the Wall and its impact.

In addition, the Scottish International Storytelling Festival has chosen ‘Bridges’ as its theme this year. We are delighted to be working with the festival to offer a series of events that explore and reflect on the fall of the Wall in a narrative way.

All films will be shown in German with English subtitles on the big screen so that everyone, regardless of German language skills, has the opportunity to take part.

The film screenings are free of charge and all interested parties are cordially invited. Come along and immerse yourself in the moving history of the fall of the Berlin Wall!

We are giving away a pair of tickets to the Scottish International Storytelling Festivals German corner events “West-East-West: Stories From a Still Divided Germany” or “How to Bring About a Peaceful Revolution?” See our Instagram post!
