In her inventive science fiction film, Sophie Linnenbaum creates a society set in a surreal film world, rigidly structured in a thre class system. People are divided into main characters, secondary characters and outtakes. The story is told from the perspective of 16-year-old schoolgirl Paula, who leaves her privileged milieu of main characters and ends up in the slums of the outtakes, where she surprisingly finds friends as social tensions are rising. Cinema and conceptual art are effectively combined in the film imagery all characters act in and which evokes themes such as xenophobia, exclusion and class differences.
