Movements and Moments
Geraldine

Geraldine Gutiérrez Piedrahita is a 27-year old trans woman belonging to the Emberá Chami Dojura Indigenous community in Chigorodó, Antioquia, Colombia. She describes herself as a strong woman who fights for the rights of the LGBT Indigenous community in Colombia. She is also a great inspiration for the activists of the present and the future.  This project, besides making Geraldine’s story visible, seeks to give an account of the plurality of meanings about what we as a society have been, are and will be. To carry out this project, its creators will use the “Intercultural Collaborative Journalism” methodology that seeks to unite civil society actors, including members of Indigenous peoples, to weave pluralistic stories.
