International Film festival screens 101 European movies in 8 cities within Indonesia
Europe on Screen is one of the oldest and most established film festivals in Southeast Asia. In 2019, Indonesia will again present European films in the country's largest cities, including Jakarta, Bandung, Medan, Denpasar, Surabaya, Yogyakarta, as well as the two new venues, Bekasi and Tangerang. Again, the yearly program includes plenty of German productions. The various program ranges from the impressive documentary
Of Fathers and Sons about the training of jihad fighters in Syria to the touching comedy
The Bra. Another special feature is the 100th anniversary of the German design school Bauhaus, which is celebrated during Europe on Screen with film screenings and the film installation entitled
Edition Bauhaus in the GoetheHaus in Jakarta. The film festival will take place between 18 - 30 April 2019, among other locations at the Goethe-Institut in Jakarta and the Wisma Jerman in Surabaya.
