A High Mountain, A Sweet Dream is a 30-minute performance addressed to the unborn children from the contract worker period in the former GDR. It begins with an interview excerpt with these Vietnamese women, before the soundscape of waves, deep-sea resonance, and womb-like echoes emerges. Seated in a half-circle, the audience faces the performer’s back, listening to the act of cutting flowers. As the snips cut through the lullaby-like sound, they recalled the abrupt violence these women experienced.
