As part of the performance series Anders Hören, or Listening Differently, Goethe-Institut Indonesien is proud to present the musical series Alur Bunyi, which will be held monthly starting from August at GoetheHaus, Jakarta. Alur Bunyi intends to create an anti-mainstream musical experience. Therefore, the exciting performances juxtapose electronic music with other genres. Our audience will enjoy featured performances from some of Indonesia’s best musicians, such as Gerald Situmorang, Jevin Julian, Patrick Hartono, Adra Karim and more, who will collaborate with German musicians Marcus Schmickler, Linnéa (Trade / No Shade / Berlin) and others.
(MF Wafy, Arie W. Omen, Alfian Roesman)
A group of performing arts, Monohero blends visuals and music in their work. The group is pioneered by a trio of young men from Malang: MF Wafy as the main composer, Arie W. Omen in vocals, and Alfian Roesman, who completes the trio with his visual work. Having rooted their arts in Psychedelic Ambient, their works tell stories of anxieties and uncertainties in life through sounds and visual.
Since its formation in January 2016, Monohero has been involved in various musical journeys, including Solo: Art Educare | Jogja, Lelagu #18, Bukan Musik Biasa (BMB #54), and Indonesia’s young composer festival (under MF Wafy) where the group’s theme of performance was "experimental electronic music“. Wrapping up 2016, they also embarked in a 10-day "FUTOURA“ tour where the act took the stage in Asmara Art & Coffeshop in Yogyakarta, Omuniuum, ButchersBill, and Ali Robin Studio in Bandung, as well as in Kampung Petemesan with Kolektif Hysteria in Semarang.
The group released its latest single at end of May 2017 titled “Resah” (Anxious), which was around the same time Monohero received the announcement that they would be one of Artjog #10 performers. “Resah” is also part of a compilation album “Lingkar Rasa” initiated by Ruang Gulma. Monohero recently performed at three venues in Yogyakarta.
