Applications and platforms we use in the internet often collect significantly more data than we would expect in view of the offered services. Because email communication lacks end-to-end encryption, it is one of the least secure communication methods.
How can we protect ourselves?
This workshop will be hosted by Yerry Niko Borang (freelance journalist) and provides us with an introduction to anonymously using the internet. We will visit and explore a few facilities and learn about tools that are available to the public, especially the TOR network, which is free and open source for enabling anonymous communication.
The workshop will also cover how to use encryption while communicating with VPN and PGP when exchanging emails. It will also offer alternatives for secure chatting apps.
