Berlin Beirut Express

OPEN CALL – Beirut Berlin Express BBX © The Factory People

Building on the success of BBX (Beirut Berlin Express) which was launched in 2016 by Factory People and the Goethe-Institut Libanon, we are continuing our support for local artists to grow their talent and profile, through a series of curated events and workshops aimed at emerging live electronic producers and live bands in Lebanon.
This project is intended to support the alternative live music scene in Lebanon, a scene that has been struggling for the past decade due to the environment in our region. Our goal is to create a beacon of hope for artists, giving them a platform where their voices are heard, and their talents recognized.

The call for emerging live electronic producers and live bands in Lebanon was open until the 18 of September 2025.

Participants will perform live at Reunion and receive valuable insight from top producers flown in from Germany. They will also benefit from workshops led by local music professionals.

Berlin Beirut Express kicks off with four concerts, each featuring a main act and two candidates as opening acts, giving them a chance to perform in front of a new audience. After these concerts, the instructors with the support of an audience voting will select two finalists to compete in the last round. Between the first and final stage, a development phase will help artists refine their sound and prepare through workshops.

The winner will get the chance to record a 3-4 track EP at the Basement Studio in Beirut and have it officially released.

This year, we received 84 submissions from talented artists across a wide range of disciplines and creative practices. After careful consideration, six outstanding artists were selected each bringing their own voice and vision to the program.

We are thrilled to share the results of our open call!

The jury committee features members will also lead a series of workshops and concerts, exploring diverse topics and artistic approaches.
