Contact and Enrolment

Interested in one of our language courses or need further information? Feel free to drop in to our language course office for some personal advice.

Due to the temporary location, the Language Course Office is currently not open regularly.
Please use our Facebook channel or Newsletter to find out about the times for collecting certificates and enrollments.
If you wish to enrol for one of our courses we ask you to come to the Language Office one week prior to the start of the new Online courses.

Registration times:
Monday:  09:00 - 12:15 pm and  01:30 - 04:30 p.m.
Tuesday: 01:30 - 04:30 p.m.
Wednesday: 09:00 - 12:15 pm and  01:30 - 04:30 p.m.
Thursday: 09:00 - 12:15 pm and  01:30 - 04:30 p.m.
Friday: 09:00 a.m. – 01:00 p.m.

Students who already have taken part in one of the courses will only be accepted for the next course level, if they finished the course successfully with at least 50% of the total points.

If you are an external student who already has some German and wish to enrol for one of our courses we ask you to come to the Language Office and fill in a placement test. This will help us to rate your level of German as closely as possible and find the best course for you.

Entrance tests are given during each Registration Week on Friday at 9:00 a.m.

If you cannot take the entrance test on one of those Fridays, you may make an individual appointment by calling the Language Course Office on +961 71 457 490.

Holiday dates (School Holidays):
The school holidays corresponds to the official Lebanese holiday regulations.
1. General Requirements
Course participants must be at least 16 years of age.

2. Terms of Payment
2.1. Upon application, the course participant will receive a preliminary confirmation. This confirmation will state the date by which payment of course fees is due in full.
2.2. If full payment is not received by the due date, the participant loses the right to participate. In such cases, the Goethe-Institut (referred to hereinafter as "GI") retains its entitlement to the course fee.

3. Course fees
3.1. The contractually binding fee is the fee stated in the price list current at the time of application.
3.2. Should a participant wish to change his or her booking (change course dates), then the first such change is free of charge. Each additional booking change is subject to a fee equal to 10% of the course fee.
3.3. Booking changes are subject to availability of free places.

4. Cancellation and refunds
4.1 The following conditions apply if the course participant is unable to take part in the course: In case of cancellation before the course starts the tuition is refunded in full. In case of cancellation or withdrawal after the course starts, no refunds or credit notes for future courses can be issued, regardless of whether or not the student has begun attending the course.
4.2 Cancellations must be submitted in writing. The date of cancellation shall be the date of receipt at the Goethe-Institut.

5. Course level assignment / class size
5.1. Placement in course levels is based on presentation of the placement test conducted at the Goethe-Institut for external students and the respective examination for internal students.
5.2. Our courses have at least 12 and at most 18 participants. In case the enrolments are insufficient, we reserve the right to cancel the course or to adjust (i.e. reduce) the number of units.

6. Responsibilities of participants
Participants are obliged to comply with the course rules and house rules applicable to the Goethe-Institut.

7. Liability of the Goethe-Institut
The liability of GI and its staff is limited to intent and gross negligence. GI also accepts no liability for the cancellation of its services due to force majeur (e.g. natural disasters, civil wars and wars, fire, floods, war, official orders and all other circumstances beyond the control of the contractual parties).
