January 6 – December 1, 2019 (once a month on Sunday 13:00 Hrs.) | Thai Film Archive, Salaya

A whole year of German cinema in Thailand. In cooperation with the Thai Film Archive, the Goethe-Institut Thailand is pleased to present the German Film Series for the eighth year running. During the course of 2019, a selection of German films will be screened on a monthly basis at the Thai Film Archive in Salaya.

Throughout the year, cinema lovers can enjoy a total of thirteen films of different genres - from drama and comedy to classics. There are shown many highlights like the film remake of the popular kids’ soap “Maya the Bee” in which young bee Maya has to accomplish several challenges in order to keep peace on the meadow (Special Screening on Children´s Day) or the documentary biography of the well-known German Artist Joseph Beuys, the inventor of the “social sculpture”. There will also be screened the documentary “Bauhaus - model and myth” which is about the famous and still very popular architectural style, or the feature film “Toni Erdmann” who tells about a lonely, retired father who visits his daughter but she is not so pleased about his visit. These four films are only some of many highlights.

The screenings are once a month, exactly on the first Sunday in each month at 1:00 pm. An exception is January because there are even two film screenings.

The films are screened in German with English subtitles. The two movies “Before Dawn – Stefan: Farewell To Europe” and “Toni Erdmann” are even shown with English and Thai subtitles.

The admission to all screenings is free.
