The 2026 FIFA World Cup offers a fantastic opportunity to combine the excitement of sports with language learning.
In this workshop, German teachers will receive a comprehensive overview of the Goethe-Institut's diverse offerings for the 2026 World Cup – from modular teaching materials for language levels A2 to B2, to films and their didactic preparation, all the way to exciting student competitions and accompanying training events, both virtual and in-person.
The Goethe-Institut's World Cup curriculum will be presented, which prepares football as a cultural and linguistic phenomenon for use in the classroom. The workshop provides insight into the structure of the entire workshop series: from using the materials and conveying football knowledge to specific didactic tips and methodological impulses for dynamic and motivating German lessons.
A special highlight: “STEP into German” – the program that creatively combines music, sports, and language.
