As part of Alle gegen Alles: Punk@50, the Goethe-Institut San Francisco welcomes the Berlin garage duo punk band CAVA for a conversation exploring contemporary punk culture, artistic practice, and Berlin's vibrant music scene. Taking place ahead of the band's performance at 924 Gilman the following evening, the event offers audiences an opportunity to engage with artists working at the intersection of music, subculture, and creative self-expression.

To bring the spirit of Alle gegen Alles: Punk@50 to the stage, the Goethe-Institut has invited CAVA to embark on a tour across the United States and Mexico. Known for their high-energy performances and uncompromising sound, CAVA channels the DIY ethos and rebellious creativity that have defined punk for generations, helping transform the project into a living, breathing celebration of punk culture.

About CAVA

Formed by Peppi and Mela in 2020, CAVA emerged during the pandemic and quickly developed a sound that is experimental, emotional, and unapologetically loud. Drawing on garage rock and punk traditions, the duo combines distorted guitar riffs and piercing feedback with politically charged, feminist-informed lyrics that move fluidly between the personal, political, and absurd. Following the critical acclaim of their second album, Powertrip (2024), CAVA is currently completing production on their third album. The band is also closely connected to Berlin's GRRRL Noisy Universe, a network supporting FLINTA* artists and greater visibility within the music industry.

Presented in conjunction with Alle gegen Alles: Punk@50, the conversation places CAVA's work within a broader discussion of punk's continuing relevance as a cultural and artistic movement. Participants will gain insight into the band's creative process, contemporary independent music culture in Berlin, and the enduring influence of DIY communities.
