Victory Over the Sun

The performance group Showcase Beat Le Mot and the Von Krahl Theatre have a long history of artistic collaboration. Now, in an international co-production with the participation of the Israeli composer Maya Dunietz and the Berlin music ensemble Kaleidoskop, they will develop a new contemporary version of the avant-garde opera ‘Victory Over the Sun’. In addition to the premiere in Berlin in January 2026 and a cycle of six performances in Tallinn in February 2026, guest performances at the Spring Performing Arts Festival in Utrecht, the Drugo More Festival in Rijeka and the Israel Festival in Jerusalem are in the planning stage. The production does not intend to be a historicist reconstruction of the scandalous 1913 work, but rather a completely new adaptation using individual historical fragments, but with the inclusion of global political topics, and serves to deepen the artistic exchange within Europe.
