Summer Session 2026
Every August, the Summer Session in Humlebæk, north of Copenhagen, brings together sixty international jazz musicians for a week of master classes, workshops and jamsessions. This year's Summer Session will take place from 2 to 8 August 2026. The workshop leaders are Milena Casado, Tarus Mateen, Eric McPherson, Cheick Tidiane Seck and Juliana Venter. Together with Jazz Danmark and the Richard Stury Foundation, the Goethe-Institut is sponsoring the participation of one jazz musician from Germany.
Conditions of funding
The open call is aimed at professional jazz musicians who live and work primarily in Germany.
The Goethe-Institut, in cooperation with the Richard Stury Foundation, is sponsoring the participation of one musician from Germany. The participation fee, meals and accommodation will be covered. Participants are responsible for their own travel expenses.
The musicians are selected by the Goethe-Institut in close cooperation with Jazz Danmark. In addition to artistic quality, the composition of the workshops and curatorial considerations are also taken into account in the decision-making process.
