Let’s celebrate languages!
Festival|Berlin Language Festival
-
Goethe-Institut Berlin, Berlin
With Olga Grjasnowa, Yoko Tawada, Prof. Roland Kaehlbrandt, Prof. Dr. M. Tuan Nguyen, Evgenia Gostrer, Imal Al Suliman, Kefah Ali Deeb, Improtheater LUX, Il Civetto
Click on the link for the full programme: The Goethe-Institut Berlin invites you to a special language festival on June 27. Together, we celebrate the 75th anniversary of the Goethe-Institut e.V. and take a look at how language can connect us, empower us, and enriches our lives.
Why is it still worthwhile to learn a new language in times of AI? How can workers with a non-German-speaking background be successfully integrated? What can go wrong if there is no common linguistic basis for communication? And what is the value of good foreign language instruction?
In the panel format "We Need to Talk," experts from science and literature discuss the role of multilingualism in a globalized world, the reasons for learning German even today, and how languages open up new worlds of experience.
The panel format “Skilled Workers Needed – How to Make Immigration Succeed” brings together personal experiences of migration, academic research and perspectives from the worlds of economics and politics, and explores how immigration can be made simpler, more effective and more sustainable.
Numerous interactive stations invite you to gain your own experiences with language acquisition and communication with AI. The improv theater LUX humorously demonstrates the small and large challenges that can arise in mutual understanding.
With music, food and drink, and special activities for children, we want to engage in conversation with you and celebrate together.
