PLOT

“Out of the toilets, Into the streets – Freedom for gay people!”

Freshly arrived in Berlin, young Daniel discovers the capital’s diverse gay scenes. Four years after the decriminalisation of homosexuality in Germany, Rosa von Praunheim directs this sharp Marxist polemic at his own community, whose compliance and lack of political commitment he condemns. The result: *It’s Not the Homosexual…* was one of the catalysts for the LGBTQIA+ liberation movement in German-speaking countries.
