PLOT

Ulli, Anna, and Claudia are three German immigrants who have settled in New York. They recount their lives to the director — their highs, their despair, and their struggles in a city full of dangers. For Praunheim, it is the dirty, brutal, marginal metropolis that matters. Survival in New York takes us from strip clubs to Catholic schools, from the lesbian scene to the Caribbean scene, from love nests to shelters for survivors of domestic violence.
