PLOT

The Einstein of Sex traces the life and struggles of Dr. Magnus Hirschfeld, a German Jewish physician and pioneer of sexology who, as early as the late 19th century, advocated for the decriminalization of male homosexuality and for the dignity of the entire LGBTQIA+ community. “The Einstein of Sex is, I believe, my most conventional film,” von Praunheim writes, “I wanted the historical figure of the father of the gay movement to be taken seriously.”
