At Delfina Foundation, Gabriella will develop research around stillness and preservation in the context of political stasis. Her focus will be on the mechanisms of ‘self-help’ apps, the fragility of broader mental health care systems, British ‘Keep Calm and Carry On’ rhetoric, wax museums, and death masks.
Gabriella is the recipient of the 2020 ACMI/Ian Potter Moving Image Commission and a Marten Bequest Scholar. She has undertaken residencies at Villa Romana in Florence, Cité Internationale des Arts in Paris, ZKU in Berlin, and Cove Park in Scotland. Recent exhibitions include Kunsthalle Osnabrück, Tin Sheds Gallery, and the Sainsbury Centre. Her film screenings and lecture performances have been featured at the 2023 Circa Prize, Dia Art Foundation, CARA in New York, and the Wende Museum in Los Angeles. Her artist bookBattlefieldwas launched at the Printed Matter NY Art Book Fair in 2024.
Gabriella was born in Sydney, Australia, and is currently based in Berlin.
