Delfina Residency

During his residency at Delfina Foundation Speiser wants to focus on further developing his piece called “Naufragio Liberador” (Liberating Shipwreck) which tells the history of the maroon societies in Esmeraldas Ecuador through the lens of string theory. As well as starting the research phase of a new collaborative project with Stephanie Comilang on the historic and the contemporary trade routes of Cacao. While taking the opportunity to enter into dialogue with people in the fields of art, science and historic research at various London based institutions.
He has exhibited at Tate Modern, Tai Kwun Hong Kong, Julia Stoschek Foundation Berlin, Walter Phillips Gallery Banff, CAC Quito Ecuador and Frankfurter Kunstverein among others.
Simon was born in Regensburg, growing up between Germany, Ecuador and Bolivia and now lives and works in Berlin.
