Have you ever blind-dated a book?

This month’s 'Deutsche Runde' is devoted to books in German and English-language classics in German translation.

To ‘warm up’, you can test yourself at recognising English-language classics in German translation from a single sentence or paragraph. Afterwards, each table will receive two gift-wrapped German books and, based on the opening paragraph, your team will have to decide which of these books you would like to ‘date’.

A fun way to find out about some lovely books in German! To develop your language skills, we will also focus on summarising the plot of a story and describe its main characters.

Why not come along and join us for a blind date of a special kind?

'Deutsche Runde' is an informal gathering and exchange around a chosen topic of German language or culture. It is ideal for learners with some knowledge of German (B1 and higher). We meet once a month on a Thursday afternoon.
