Making the case for German

Gimagine brings the German language to your school, wherever you are in the United Kingdom. Get support locally, team up with other schools to profit from our free professional training courses, receive professional mentoring for your school, and become a German language learning centre.

The German language across the UK

Be it through prepared lessons with our German Clubs, our free professional development and mentoring programme (the GEM initiative), or Vorsprung Deutsch, an initiative where we step in to provide German teaching at schools that experience a short-term HR shortage, Gimainge brings the German language to schools everywhere in the United Kingdom.

  • German Expert Mentors (GEMs)

Our German Expert Mentors (GEMs) Network delivers support to German departments and professional upskilling to German teachers in schools across the UK. Part of a nationwide network, our GEMs will coach and mentor language-teaching professionals, supply updated teaching resources and materials, and re-energise language learning with free-of-charge, bespoke offers that can be tailored to individual needs upon request.

  • Vorsprung Deutsch

Is your German Department facing a short-term HR shortage? With Vorsprung Deutsch, the Goethe-Institut can step in until your department has got back on its feet again.

Connect your students locally

with other learners around them

Are you considering starting a German Club? Why not also create a forum or private group on our free community learning platform "Deutsch für Dich", building a fun learning environment with peers around you?

Deutsch für Dich

Goethe-Institut's “Deutsch für Dich” platform is an interactive, gamified, easily accessible and safe self-learning space. Exercises are designed for learners of all language levels and are directed towards a variety of age groups. Interactive features, such as topical forums and comment functions, allow for community building. Users may also create private groups for private exchanges. The Deutsch-für-Dich-team responds to public commentary and deletes inappropriate content.
