Open Haus - No space for imagining? © Goethe Institut

The Goethe-Institut London is offering free space for cultural practitioners and community groups in our South Kensington building. We hope to welcome as many artists, makers and groups as possible, however, space is limited and available on an application basis. If you are seeking a room for rehearsing, working, writing, imagining, reading, thinking, planning or meeting please reach out to us.

The process is simple. Complete the short online form with your request and we will allocate a space to you where there is availability. We aim to respond to applications within a week, but can sometimes need more time depending on other activity within our programme and building.

Available Spaces

  • The Auditorium is our event space and is often used for film screenings, discursive events and receptions. The space is 11m x 7m and has a linoleum over concrete floor.
  • The Library always has spaces available for independent reading, writing and quiet study during Library opening hours (Mon–Thu 1pm–6.30pm), just show up. Please apply if you require sole use of a Meeting room for meetings or group activities any time during our full opening hours (see below). We have a number of meeting rooms accommodating from 2 to 12 people.
  • Seat #12 is a sculptural meeting concept within our Library. The seat is balanced in an equilibrium and offers a different model for conversations and meetings.

Spaces can be booked during our regular business hours of Mon–Fri 9am to 7pm.
